Under Sodom Mountain is the result of eight years spent around the Dead Sea. The book brings together the calm beauty of the landscape and the ecological damage caused by human actions, allowing both to exist within the same visual rhythm.

The book is conceived not only as a collection of photographs, but as an art project in itself. Designed by Teun van der Heijden, it uses several different types of paper, with silver-printed double spreads marking the images dealing with ecological damage. The silver gives these pages a different, more urgent presence and interrupts the calm flow of the book.

Every element of the book was carefully balanced. The horizons throughout the photographs are aligned with the line pressed into the front cover, creating a visual structure that runs through the entire book. Even the white space around each image was considered in relation to the photograph itself, so that the page, the image and the physical object work together as one composition.
