Douelle

For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of capturing the beauty of rural southern France, capturing the enchanting landscapes that once inspired Toulouse-Lautrec and Van Gogh. My journeys have often navigated the well-trodden paths favored by tourists, yet last autumn gifted me a week in a quaint village with only two streets, a single grocery store, a charming bakery, and a bridge. This small place is called Douelle. It fascinates me how an unfamiliar place can resonate within me and how I could create something, particularly here, where the canvas for visual storytelling feels so constrained. The persistent rain and thick morning fog fashioned a dynamic stage, with the village either shrouded in a dreamy haze or obscured by heavy rains. I only needed to stand still, and each press of my
